XMAS – Cross-Modality Annotation Software

A smarter way to annotate retinal images.

Request a free trial Pricing

XMAS brings each patient's retinal images together in one window, aligns them, and lets a team annotate, measure and export across all of them. Made for researchers, clinicians and AI developers, and used in the published studies below. For research use only.

Why XMAS?

Every image, side by side

Colour fundus, autofluorescence and other photographs, hyperspectral images, OCT volumes (Heidelberg Spectralis, Zeiss) and MAIA microperimetry in synchronised viewers, each B-scan linked to its place on the en-face image.

Automatic image alignment

Coregistration aligns a patient's images onto one reference and scores each result for review. Where it falls short, align by hand with landmarks.

Annotation tools

Paint, pen, shapes, points and landmarks, B-scan layer segmentation, a smart brush that follows the image, and an AI brush that runs deep-learning models.

Grids and measurements

Sector grids with per-sector statistics, the MAIA grid, a measure tool, and the spectrum of any hyperspectral pixel.

Built for teams

Several people annotate one shared project at once. Comment on any annotation, and see every change with who made it and when.

Analysis-ready exports

Label masks, CSV coordinates and a manifest for statistics or model training, aligned images for a new project, and snapshots for figures.
